Check out Beth's speaker interview!
Beth started her photographic education journey in the early 90’s through Ryerson University’s Photographic Arts Bachelors program in Toronto Canada. Since that time, she has focused exclusively on wildlife and pet photography.
Her life journey sent her to the US in early 2000 where she called Los Angeles California home and worked on the Warner Bros. Studio lot. In August of 2016 she relocated herself and her 7 year old twins to Bend Oregon after what was supposed to be a 2 day mentorship with Julia Kelleher turned into a a 5 year opportunity. While in Bend, Beth found it easier to focus on her love of Pet Photography and build her pet photography business, after all Bend is also known as Dog Town USA! Every household has at least 2.2 dogs! She also built up a relationship with the local humane society and became their exclusive photographer, photographing their events, developing fundraising calendars and creating profile images for long term residents to help them find their forever families.
In late 2021, Beth made another life change and moved herself and her now 13 year old twins to Nova Scotia Canada to be closer to family. She now runs a part-time in home studio under the name Brinston and Company, where she services pets and their people. She also mentors other photographers in Canada and the US in business and print competition.
Beth received her CPP in 2017, her Oregon Fellow of Photography Degree in 2020 and her PPA Master of Photography in 2021. She also holds her Accreditation of Animal Imagery with AIM and is Accredited with the Professional Photographers of Canada in both Canine and Feline Photography. Beth hasn’t left her ties to Oregon behind. She continues to serves on the Board of Directors and is a current active Juror for Oregon PPA.
